# Moazzin

> Islamic prayer times (namaz / salah times) for every city in the world, monthly timetables, Ramadan sehri and iftar tables, the Qibla direction, and the jama'at times mosques publish, free with no ads or tracking. In English, Urdu, Hindi, Bengali, Malayalam and Telugu, with a companion app for Android and iPhone.

Times are calculated from the Sun's position by the open `moazzin_engine`: Fajr and Isha at 18° by default (Isha 12° as an option), Hanafi Asr by default (shadow twice the height; the standard Shafi‘i/Maliki/Hanbali Asr as an option), the Umm al-Qura Hijri date, IANA time zones with daylight saving. No safety minutes are added; where a mosque publishes its own timetable, follow it.

## MCP server

A public, read-only Model Context Protocol server: `https://moazzin.com/mcp` (Streamable HTTP, stateless, no sign-in). It speaks protocol 2026-07-28 and the earlier 2025-11-25, 2025-06-18 and 2025-03-26. Requests are limited per network; arguments are never logged and coordinates are rounded to about 1 km before use.

- `find_city`: Search the 34,000 cities and towns Moazzin has prayer-time pages for. Typo- and spelling-tolerant ("Karaachi", "Haiderabad", Urdu script). Returns ids like "pk/karachi" to pass as `city` to the other tools.
- `prayer_times`: Fajr, Sunrise, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib and Isha for one day at a city or coordinates, in local time (24-hour) with the time zone, plus the Hijri date. Calculated as on moazzin.com: Fajr and Isha at 18°, Hanafi Asr unless `asr` says otherwise. Give either `city` or `lat` and `lng`.
- `month_timetable`: Every day of a month for a city or coordinates: Fajr, Sunrise, Zuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha (local, 24-hour) and the Hijri date, calculated as on the printable timetable page. Give either `city` or `lat` and `lng`.
- `qibla`: The Qibla from a city or coordinates: the great-circle bearing to the Kaaba in degrees from true north, its compass point and the distance in km. Give either `city` or `lat` and `lng`.
- `mosques_near`: Mosques on Moazzin within `radius_km` (at most 3) of a point, nearest first, with today's jama'at (congregation) times, the mosque's own azan when it publishes one, and where the times come from: "mosque" (published by its admins) or "confirmed" (by the community). Only mosques whose times are public are listed. Coordinates are rounded to about 1 km, so distances are approximate.
- `mosque_times`: One mosque's jama'at times for a day (today by default), its own azan when published, the Jumu‘ah khutbah, and where the times come from. Takes a mosque id ("noor-krc") or its link ("https://moazzin.com/m/noor-krc").

Every tool takes an optional `lang` (`en`, `ur`, `hi`, `bn`, `ml`, `te`) and returns a `source` link on moazzin.com.
