Moazzin

Delete your data

Effective 3 October 2026

In short. The Moazzin app has no account and keeps your data on your devices, so uninstalling the app deletes it. A few copies can exist elsewhere (iCloud, system backups, emails to us, mosque admin accounts); here is how to delete each.

Moazzin (the app and moazzin.com) is made and run by Hassan Ansari, an individual developer in India. “We”, “us” and “our” on these pages mean him. Write to [email protected] about anything on this page.

In the app

  1. Uninstall Moazzin from the device. This deletes its settings, places, prayer log, reminders, mosques, Tasbih counts, bookmarks, downloads and the sync keys on that device.
  2. Do the same on every device you synced with, or unpair them first (More › Sync devices › Unpair). Unpairing alone deletes nothing.
  3. On Android, the system may keep a backup of the app's settings in your Google account: Settings › Google › Backup (the exact menu varies by phone), or delete the backup at drive.google.com › Storage › Backups.
  4. Delete any backup files you exported (.moazzin) from wherever you saved them.

In iCloud (Apple devices)

If you turned on iCloud sync, a copy of your synced data is in your private iCloud database, which only your Apple ID can reach. Turning sync off, or signing out, keeps the iCloud copy. To delete it, on an iPhone or iPad go to Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage Account Storage (or Storage), choose Moazzin if it is listed, and delete its data; on a Mac use System Settings › your name › iCloud › Manage. Your device and iCloud backups follow Apple's backup settings.
