Moazzin

Terms of use

Effective 3 October 2026

In short. Moazzin is free to use. Calculated times are an aid, not a ruling: follow your mosque and local scholars. Use the app and site fairly, and don't misuse our server.

Moazzin (the app and moazzin.com) is made and run by Hassan Ansari, an individual developer in India. “We”, “us” and “our” on these pages mean him. Write to [email protected] about anything on this page.

By using the Moazzin app or moazzin.com you agree to these terms and to the privacy policy. If you publish a mosque's times, the mosque guidelines also apply; if you buy Supporter, the Supporter terms also apply.

Using Moazzin

Prayer times, Qibla and dates

Alerts and Prayer focus

Adhan alerts, reminders and “Silent at my mosque” depend on your device. The system can delay or stop them (battery saving, Do Not Disturb, permissions, updates, a restart, low storage). Moazzin shows checks such as Alarm Health, but we can't guarantee every alert. Don't rely on the app alone for anything where a missed alert would cause harm. Prayer focus pauses apps you pick, during prayer windows you choose, and you can turn it off at any time.

The board scan

The board scan uses AI models on Ollama Cloud to read a photo. Its results are generated by AI and may contain errors or omissions; you check them before saving. Only photograph boards you are allowed to photograph, and keep people out of the frame.

Our name and work

The Moazzin name, logo, design and code belong to us or our licensors, except the third-party material listed on the credits page. You may link to moazzin.com and share its pages and printouts.

App stores

You download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play, and their terms also apply. For the iOS, iPadOS, macOS and watchOS app: these terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple has no duty to provide maintenance or support for the app; Apple is not responsible for any claims about the app (including product liability, legal compliance, consumer protection or intellectual property claims); if the app fails to meet a warranty that applies by law, you may tell Apple, which may refund the price you paid (if any), and Apple has no other warranty obligation; Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. You confirm you are not in a country under a US government embargo or on a US list of prohibited or restricted parties.

No warranty and limits of liability

Moazzin is made with care and offered free, “as is” and “as available”. As far as the law allows, we give no warranties about accuracy, availability or fitness for a purpose, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss caused by inaccurate times, missed alerts, third-party services or content published by others. Where we are liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim (which for most people is nothing), or INR 1,000 if greater. Nothing here limits rights you have by law that cannot be limited, including consumer rights in your country, or liability for fraud or for death or injury caused by negligence.

Ending use

You can stop using Moazzin at any time by uninstalling the app. We may suspend access to our server or the admin site for anyone who misuses it, and we may change or stop features. Most of the app keeps working offline even then.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Please write to us first; most problems can be solved by email. If not, the courts of India have jurisdiction, but if you are a consumer living elsewhere you may also bring a claim in your own country's courts and keep the protection of its mandatory laws.

Changes

We may update these terms. We will change the date above and, for important changes, tell you in the app. If you keep using Moazzin after that, the new terms apply.
